When I first faced divorce proceedings in Israel as an English speaker, I felt overwhelmed and lost. The complexity of navigating a foreign legal system during one of life’s most challenging moments left an indelible mark on me—one that would eventually shape my entire professional path.
A Tale of Two Legal Systems
With over two decades of legal experience in both Israel and New York, my journey spans continents and jurisdictions. After making Aliyah with my family in 2004, I initially maintained my securities practice in New York, frequently traveling between countries. However, life had different plans for me.
## Learning Through Personal Experience
My own divorce battle, which played out in both U.S. and Israeli courts, opened my eyes to the unique challenges faced by English speakers in the Israeli legal system. This difficult period—which ultimately resulted in me gaining custody of my three minor children—taught me invaluable lessons about the system’s intricacies and the emotional toll it takes on families.
## Turning Challenge into Purpose
These experiences led me to establish a family law practice in Israel with a singular mission: helping others navigate the system more effectively than I did. As a certified mediator and attorney licensed in both jurisdictions, I bring a unique perspective to each case, combining Western legal knowledge with deep understanding of Israeli family law.
## Expanding to Meet Community Needs
While divorce cases initially formed the core of my practice, watching my own parents’ Aliyah journey revealed another crucial need in our community. Many olim needed support in protecting their assets and planning their future in Israel. This realization led to the creation of our Elder Law Division, focusing on wills, estates, and continuing powers of attorney.
## A Personal Approach to Professional Service
Today, having remarried and rebuilt my own life, I approach each client’s case with patience, compassion, and deep understanding. Whether you’re facing divorce proceedings or planning for retirement, my team and I are committed to providing the guidance I wish I’d had during my own legal challenges.
## Looking Forward
My personal journey through the Israeli legal system has equipped me with more than just professional expertise—it’s given me genuine empathy for what my clients are experiencing. This combination of personal experience and professional knowledge allows me to offer not just legal services, but true understanding and support during life’s most challenging transitions.
Remember: you don’t have to navigate this journey alone. Let my experience—both personal and professional—help guide you toward a better future.
